Street Art over time
Edito #82 | April – May 2025
The spring of Street Art is here. Its revival draws strength from the movement’s deep roots and gains momentum through its boundless creativity and universal appeal.
The Alphabeta Sigma exhibition at the Palais de Tokyo celebrates Rammellzee – a legendary figure of the 1980s underground and counterculture – and immerses in a whirlwind of artistic chaos, a fertile ground for limitless creativity.
That same unbridled creativity is also on display at successive editions of the Colors festival, the most recent of which took place in Champigny, and in the very diverse Asian Street Art scene, which we explore through hotspots and talents with both regional and international recognition. Looking to develop their own artistic universes, artists find in Street Art a vast playground to express themselves, even the most demanding ones: SozyOne has been mastering lines for more than three decades; Sortwo draws inspiration from comic books and manga; Vance explores variations in transparency; Nilko & Aroe look at fame while Murmure champions ever-deeper environmental awareness.
Last but not least, a fresh wind of change is also sweeping through Paris Urban Art Fair, set to take place at Le Carreau du Temple from 24 to 27 April. We’ll be there, so come say hello!
