Body and soul
Interview / Aruallan
Perched on her lift, Hyuro paints majestic, committed, and sensitive murals, using the body and clothing as metaphors for the aberrations of patriarchal society. Back on the ground, a more demure facet appears; she gives only one interview a year, avoids being photographed, and seldom exhibits her work. There is no pretense here, nor does she cultivate her image; she just lives by integrity. We have known each other for a long time, so it was easy for us to sit down and have the most candid of conversations.
