Organic mutations
Interview / Aruallan
The organic forms and encapsulated worlds created by Crystal Wagner remind us of a state of nature long lost. Guided by her intuition, she is at one with her giant sculptures that hang on to the sides of buildings like perennial plants. Her approach towards her organic worlds is connected to philosophy, metaphysics even, and thus, in turn, we think of Aristotle and his analysis of change through matter and form or Deleuze and Guattari’s rhizome theory and model.
